Moisture laden clouds from the nearby Pacific swirl around glacier-clad Mount Carrie in the Olympics. Frequent weather systems feed glaciers and sub-alpine meadows alike giving these mountains their unique character. Though low by world standards, (The highest peak is under eight thousand feet.), the copious snows make these rugged mountains home to some 60 glaciers and countless acres of lush sub-alpine meadows.
